The Poitou-Charentes region of France consists of four Departments: the Charente, Charente Maritime, Deux Sevres & Vienne, an area of almost 10,000 square miles; 2,000 larger than Wales. Within the Region there is a diversity of culture, industry and agriculture ranging from the maritime to mountains and cattle to Cognac. The Royal British Legion provides welfare to the whole Armed Forces family - serving, ex-Service and their dependants. We also campaign on a range of issues affecting Service people, are the custodian of Remembrance, run the annual Poppy Appeal and are one of the UK's largest membership organisations.

Linazay RBL was formed in February 2007 with a starting membership of 15, since that time we have gradually expanded and today’s membership stands at 112. We operate in and around the Poitou-Charentes Region of France organising fundraising social events for the annual RBL Poppy Appeal.
